MUSCATINE — A Muscatine County jury found a Muscatine man guilty of sexual abuse in the third degree this week.
On Sept. 26, the Muscatine Police Department investigated an incident in which Marion Treadwell Morrison, 61, was found to have sexually abused an adult female at a Muscatine residence, according to the criminal report. The jury trial began Monday and the jury deliberated for around 40 minutes before reaching its verdict, according to Muscatine County Attorney Alan Ostergren.
Following the jury's verdict, the court ordered the defendant's bond to be revoked. Morrison will be held in the Muscatine County Jail pending sentencing on Dec. 1, according to Ostergren.
Sexual abuse in the third degree is a class "C" felony, punishable by up to 10 years in prison. The case was prosecuted by the county attorney.
