MUSCATINE — A Muscatine woman has been charged with theft after stealing more than $1,000 from Brickhouse Diner in April.
Around April 13, Sarah Kay Knox, 40, entered the Brickhouse Diner, 710 Grandview Ave., Muscatine, without permission, according to the criminal complaint. She then opened the cash register and removed $1,062. The incident was captured on store security footage and Knox was identified by store management.
According to the criminal complaint, Knox later admitted to the burglary and theft during a recorded interview. She is charged with theft in the second degree, a class "C" felony, plus burglary in the third degree, a class "D" felony.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 20 in Muscatine County court.
