The Muscatine County Parkinson's Disease Support Group will meet for a presentation by Unity Hospital on "Big and Loud" therapy for Parkinson's disease. The group will meet at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, in the Muscatine County Extension Office, 1514 Isett Ave.
LSVT Big is a structured physical and occupational therapy program that uses big movements to help people with Parkinson’s move more naturally. LSVT Loud is a speech therapy program that uses the recording of the patient’s own voice to practice speaking.
According to the press release, refreshments will be free for all to enjoy.
"We welcome anyone whose life is affected by Parkinson's to join us and learn of ways to better cope with its issues," said Patricia Corriell.
