CONESVILLE, Iowa - Alma Grace Roush, 87, of Conesville, passed away on Sunday, November 26, at Trinity Hospital. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 30, at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Columbus Junction, Iowa. Interment will be in the Conesville Cemetery. Following the interment, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Conesville Community Center. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, November 29 at the funeral home. Alma Grace Smith was born on March 19, 1930, in Morning Sun, the daughter of Dale and Amy Stewart Smith. Alma Grace was a 1947 graduate of Morning Sun High School. On December 8, 1949, she was united in marriage to William “Woody” Roush. She owned Sinclair Service and Gas Station in Conesville with her husband. Alma Grace was an active and founding member of the Hometown team. She was instrumental in planning of the Conesville Community Center and served on the Orono Township Election board. She also served on the Conesville Watermelon Days Committee. She enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, embroidery, word searches and cleaning.
Alma will be deeply missed by her husband, Woody; children, Patricia “Patty” Lewis and husband, Stacy of Muscatine, Bill Roush of Iowa City and Darrell Roush of Iowa City; seven grandchildren, Matt Cross, Luke (Sara) Cross, Tricia (Andrew) Denniger, Elsabeth (Matthew) Hepworth, Jeanette (Ryan) Roush-Karaft, Mitchell Roush and Kelli Roush; and great grandchildren, Colby, Karolina, Caleb and Conrad Cross.
Alma was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Nellie Dopler; and one sister and brother in infancy, Leon and Darlene Smith.
