TAMPA, FLORIDA - Barbara Ann (Huber) Judd, 84, passed away Sept. 6, 2017, in Tampa, Florida. Born Christmas Eve, 1932, in Muscatine, she was the eldest of Kenneth and Florence Huber’s four children. A 1950 graduate of Muscatine High School, she earned her R.N. degree from Augustana College, St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing. She married William “Bill” Judd in 1954, and the family was complete with the addition of daughter Tracey in 1959. Barbara spent over 20 years in nursing serving as Intensive Care Unit head nurse at Grandview Hospital in Dayton, Ohio, before transitioning to management duties at Grandview/Southview Hospital in Centerville, Ohio. Following retirement, Barbara enjoyed traveling, volunteering and time with family and friends. Barbara will be missed by daughter Tracey Judd, Tracey’s wife Tammy Smith-Judd of Land O’ Lakes, Florida; sister Sandy (Huber) Knobel of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota; brother Wayne Huber and wife Pat of Columbus, Indiana; her aunt, Betty Streicher of Indianapolis, Indiana; 10 nieces and nephews, 21 great-nieces and nephews and Tammy’s family. Barbara was preceded in death by her loving husband Bill; father Kenneth and mother Florence (Gunnarson) Huber, sister, Janet (Huber) Mathias, father-in-law Howard and mother-in-law Julia (Springer) Judd, sister-in-law Catherine “Sis” (Judd) Wood and brother-in-law Dean Wood. Celebrations of Barbara’s life will take place in Tampa and Centerville and will be announced later. All who she touched in her array of wonderful ways will be welcome. In lieu of flowers, Barbara requested family and friends consider donations to The American Heart Association, The American Cancer Society, The Alzheimer’s Association, The Humane Society or to the charity of their choice.
