A weekend full of festivals and events kicks off Friday night with a Puppet Slam at Puebla Restaurant in downtown West Liberty.
Guest puppeteers will regale the crowd with outrageous puppet vignettes. The event is appropriate for teenagers and adults, and the entertainment is free.
Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., is the 21st Annual West Liberty Children's Festival in downtown West Liberty on 3rd Street. There's a full schedule of performances, crafts and activities, including juggling, puppets and story-telling.
From 3-10 p.m. Saturday, the Latinos Unidos will host Fiesta West Liberty, an evening of live music and Mexican food, featuring a Mariachi Band and a Puerto Rican band.
