MUSCATINE, Iowa - Karen Jeanne Everhart, 54, of Muscatine, died Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at her home.

The Rev. Tom Parrott will officiate the service.

Memorials in her honor may be made to the family in care of David Everhart.

Mrs. Everhart was born Nov. 4, 1955, in Muscatine, the daughter of Floyd B. and Ruth Alexander Garrett. She married David D. Everhart July 21, 1973, in Muscatine, at the Island United Methodist Church.

She worked in the care giving field at the former Muscatine General Hospital, Lutheran Homes, and the Muscatine Community Y before focusing all of her attention towards her home, children, and eventually her grandchildren.

She enjoyed auto-touring with her husband around the Midwest and also enjoyed gardening.

Her greatest treasure was all of the time spent with her children and grandchildren.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, David D. Everhart of Muscatine; a son, Matt D. Everhart of Muscatine; two daughters, Sarah L. Kern and husband, Toby, of Muscatine, and Julie A. Shannon of Muscatine; three grandchildren, Arianna White, Sevindee Shannon and Holden Shannon; her stepmother, Norma Garrett of Muscatine; a brother, Steve Garrett and wife, Laurel, of Columbus Junction; and two sisters, Kristine Duggan and husband, Steve, of Muscatine, and Diane McCleary and husband, Jerry, of Muscatine.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
