FRUITLAND, Iowa—Gail A. Ramer, 84, of Fruitland, died on Monday, Aug. 20, 2012, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Reverend Ray Oehme of the Vineyard Christian Fellowship Church will officiate. Casket bearers will be Doug Ramer Jr., Cody Ramer, Timmy Ramer Jr., Justin Ryan, Chase Ryan, Logan Wheeler, and Luke Long.
Memorials may be made to the family in care of Angie Koppe.
Gail was born on December 11, 1927, in Muscatine, the son of Harry and Kathryn Hill Ramer. He married Jean Starkweather on Sept. 23, 1970, in Muscatine. She preceded him in death on Nov. 19, 2011.
He had worked as a car salesman and later owned The Bargain Mart.
He was a member of the Vineyard Christian Fellowship Church. He enjoyed going to auctions and loved doing yard work and wood working. He had a special love for animals. He especially treasured spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Those left to honor his memory include his children, Doug Ramer and wife, Susanne, of New Boston, Ill., Jacque Christensen of Muscatine, Janice Jorgensen and husband, Allan, of Muscatine, Janet Haskell and significant other, David Busch, of Muscatine, Debbie Harvey and husband, John, of Muscatine, Cindy Hake and husband, Russell, of Muscatine, Dianna Aguirre and husband, Steve, of Muscatine, David Henley of Oklahoma, Tim Ramer and wife, ‘Cliff’ of Muscatine, Randy Ramer and wife, Jeanine, of Morning Sun, Brad Ramer and wife, Julie, of Ankeny, Dean Goodrick and wife, Alicia, of Houston, Texas, Angie Koppe and husband, Nathan, of Fruitland, Ryan Ramer and wife, Sarah, of Muscatine, and Ashley Loveless and husband, Jason, of Muscatine; 33 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and one brother, Joe Lucky.
