COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa — Patsy R. Courtney, 82, of Columbus Junction, died Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at the Colonial Manor in Columbus Junction.
The Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services is caring for Patsy and her arrangements and cremation will be facilitated by the Life Transition and Cremation Center of Muscatine Memorial Park.
The Courtney family wishes to thank Hospice Compassus as well as the Staff at Colonial Manor Care Center of Columbus Junction for the outstanding care and love given to Patsy.
Patsy Ruth Sprague was born on June 12, 1930, in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of William Harlan and Hazel Marie (Blake) Sprague. On Sept. 27, 1946, Patsy was united in marriage to William Lewis Courtney, Sr. in Grandview, Iowa. She was a member of the Catholic Church; an animal and nature lover. Patsy was a gentle spirit, loving all kinds of music and especially spending time with her family and friends.
Patsy will be deeply missed by her children, Katherine Marie Stuhr and husband, Ed of Letts, Deborah Ann Freebury and husband, Gene of Charles City, Nancy Louise Fowlkes and husband, Ronald of Edgewood, Sheree Lynn Lange and husband, Gary of Letts, Vena Rae Courtney of Muscatine, William Lewis Courtney, Jr. of Des Moines, Timothy Sean Courtney of Des Moines and Michael James Courtney and husband, Brian West of Muscatine; twenty grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; daughter, Jeanne Renee Graves; granddaughter, Jolie Jordan; four brothers; and two sisters.
