McMINNVILLE, Ore. - Sally Marie Sprouse Cole, 71, a former resident of Muscatine, died Sunday, May 30, 2010, in McMinnville, Ore.
She was born to George and Alice Schneider in Cleveland, Ohio, March 1, 1939. As a young child, she moved to Palos Verdes, Calif., where she grew up.
She was a graduate of Palos Verdes High School and attended UCLA. She later returned to college after raising her family to earn her associate's degree.
She and her husband, Donald Ray Sprouse, raised their two children, Michelle and Jeffrey, in Muscatine. They owned and operated Iowa Paint Store and stained glass studio.
She was widowed in 1994 and married Dwayne Darrell Cole in 1997, residing first in West Linn and then McMinnville, Ore. Their blended family includes Leanne, Darylynn and Will.
Before retiring in 2007, Sally worked as an administrative assistant for Xerox in Wilsonville, Ore. She and her husband Dwayne enjoyed searching for antiques and collectibles at auctions. Their hobby and business included selling their finds via the Internet and at antique shows in Portland, Ore. She also enjoyed her vegetable and rose garden.
She was a member of The Church on the Hill in McMinnville, Ore., and was involved in the Sunday school class and Bible study and helped coordinate dinners for sick families.
She is survived by her husband Dwayne Cole of McMinnville; three step-children, Leanne Cole, Darylynn Homer and Will Cole; her daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Feber Austin of Sherwood, Ore.; two grandchildren, Danielle and Garrett Austin; and two siblings, Robert Schneider of Vale, Ariz., and Billie Williams of Santa Monica, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Sprouse.
