TIPTON, Iowa — Tipton’s annual Ridiculous Days are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, Aug. 2-3, in downtown Tipton.
The event is designed in part to allow residents and visitors to enjoy bargains offered by area businesses.
The event also features craft vendors, face painting, horse-drawn trolley rides and music in the courthouse gazebo from 11 a.m. through 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2.
Saturday’s schedule includes a street dance beginning at 7 p.m. In addition on Saturday, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., the Old Cedar County Jail will be open for tours. A horse-drawn trolley tour of Tipton’s Victorian homes is set for 1-4 p.m. Saturday. The tour originates at 1 p.m. at the Tipton Public Library.
Ridiculous Days coincides with the 16th annual Hardacre Film Festival and the Cedar County Health and Safety Fair, all taking place in downtown Tipton. The Tipton Chamber of Commerce sponsors Ridiculous Days and the Hardacre Film Festival.
Aug. 2-3 also marks Iowa’s annual sales tax holiday.
