Lincoln Public Schools will host a "bonus" Learning Lunch on Monday with information about the solar eclipse passing over Nebraska in August.

The presentation will feature James Blake, LPS science curriculum specialist. LPS has been planning for months to make sure all students learn about the eclipse and those from first through 12th grade are outside to see the once-in-a-lifetime event on Aug. 21.

During the school year, LPS hosts monthly Learning Lunches for staff and community members in the district office board room, 5905 O St.

For Monday's event, doors to the board room open at noon, the program begins at 12:15 p.m. and questions and answers happen at 12:45 p.m. Participants should bring their own lunch. LPS will provide dessert.
