Muscatine didn't get a win in its final dual swimming meet of the season, but coach Judd Anderson had nothing but praise for his team after a 118-66 home defeat to Iowa City West.
Seniors Renee Kerr and Samara Perkins led the Muskies Tuesday night as each recorded a pair of individual second-place performances and were both members of two second-place relay teams.
Kerr finished runner-up in the 100 butterfly in 1 minute, 5.07 seconds and in the 200 individual medley in 2:25.53. She also swam the third leg of the 200 medley relay team and the first leg of the 400 free relay team that both took second.
Perkins placed second in the 50 freestyle in 26.59 and in the 100 backstroke in 1:03.03. She also swam the first leg of the 200 medley relay and the second leg of the 400 free relay.
Maddy Beik added a second-place finish in 1-meter diving with a 158.90 score, and Hope Reichert was second in the 100 freestyle in 59.34.
"I was very pleased that we were able to compete," Anderson said. "In general, we (recorded) our best times for the year, so it was a very successful meet as far as I was concerned."
The Muscatine junior varsity team lost 103-42. The Muskies will conclude their season with the Muskie JV Invitational on Oct. 21, the regional diving meet on Oct. 26 and the regional swimming meet on Oct. 28.
The state swimming meet will take place Nov. 3 in Marshalltown.
