Wilton sweeps tournament: The Wilton volleyball team put forth another dominating performance Saturday at the Washington Tournament. The Beavers (28-4, 6-2) won all six matches and all 12 sets on their way to a first place finish.
Two of those six wins came over Wapello, including a 25-14, 25-14 win in the championship match.
Junior Aubrey Putman led Wilton with 61 kills and 42 digs, and she also passed 1,000 career kills in the tournament. Senior Kallie Poor led the Beavers in assists (101) aces (4) and also added 25 digs.
"I'm proud of our effort and progress," coach Brenda Grunder said. "They've played together a long time and have a lot of experience."
The Beavers have now won nine matches in a row, and Grunder said she's pleased with how they're playing ahead of the River Valley Conference Tournament at Monticello on Tuesday.
