Macalester College sophomore utility player Morghan Bean, a 2014 Muscatine graduate, was named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference softball player of the week after hitting .400 (8 for 20) with three home runs and 12 RBIs as the Scots went 3-3.

Bean, who's hitting .330 this season with 38 hits and leads the team with seven home runs and 35 RBIs, had three multi-hit games during the stretch.

Her biggest game was when she went 2 for 4 with 4 RBI, including a two-run homer and the go-ahead two-run single in the seventh inning, to push Macalester past No. 13 St. Thomas.

The Scotts are 13-23 this season, including a 6-12 mark in the MIAC.
