Wilton 10th, 13th: The Wilton girls cross country team placed 10th and the boys placed 13th at the Jim Hetrick Invitational at DeWitt High School Thursday.
Linsey Ford led the girls with a 35th place finish in 22:58, and Emmy Drake placed 40th in 23:17. Buddy Darting led all Beaver's runners with a seventh place in the boys division in 17:14, and Noah Brown placed 30th in 18:18.
Columbus 8th at SEISC Meet: The Columbus boys cross country team finished eighth in the 16-school Southeast iowa Super Conference meet Thursday at Winfield.
Marc Estrada led the Wildcats with an 18th place finish in 18:03, and Hunter Humiston wasn't far behind in 21st in 18:14.
The Columbus girls didn't record a team score but Jenessa Carpenter placed 17th in 21:50 in what Riley called her "best race of the season."
The Wapello boys placed second in the meet, while the Louisa-Muscatine boys were 13th. The Wapello girls team placed ninth, and the Louisa-Muscatine girls didn't record a team score.
Wapello sweeps Columbus: The Wapello volleyball team swept Columbus, 25-14, 25-10, 25-13 on Thursday to improve to 15-8 on the season. Columbus, meanwhile, dropped to 5-22. Maki Mendenhall led the Wildcats with five kills, and she also added four digs and two assists. Courtney Zarhringer had 11 assists, three digs and two kills for Columbus.
Wilton sweeps Mid-Prairie Wellman: The Wilton volleyball team improved to 22-4 on the season with a dominating 25-12, 25-16, 25-9 straight set win Thursday. Aubrey Putman led the Beavers with 10 kills, while Kallie Poor led them in assists with 24.
