NOTICE OF EASTERN IOWA COMMUNITY COLLEGE – SPECIAL ELECTION I, Tibe Vander Linden, Commissioner of Elections of Muscatine County, State of Iowa, do hereby give due notice that a special election will be held in the Eastern Iowa Community School District, in the Counties of Muscatine, Cedar, Clinton, Dubuque, Johnson, Maquoketa, Louisa and Scott, State of Iowa, on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, for the purpose of voting on General Obligation School Bond and Director Vacancy for District VIII. I hereby certify that the ballot shown with this notice is a true and correct facsimile of the Official Ballot to be voted at this Election. The EICC District VIII Director Office will not be listed on all ballots. For the EICC Special Election (Merged Area IX) to be held on March 2, 2021, voting centers will be available. Any registered voter of Muscatine County may vote at any of the following places in this election: VC1-MCCMcAvoy - Muscatine Community College-McAvoy Center, 1403 Park Avenue, Muscatine, IA 52761 VC2-Schl-Admin - Muscatine Community School District Administration Bldg., 2900 Mulberry Avenue, Muscatine, IA 52761 VC3-WLiberty - West Liberty Community Center, 1204 N Calhoun St. West Liberty, IA 52776 VC4- Wilton - Wilton Community Center, 1205 Cypress Street, Wilton, IA 52778 The voting centers will be open from 7:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. NOTICE OF POLLING PLACE CHANGE: Voting centers listed above are the only locations for voting on Election Day for this Special Election. All registered voters of Muscatine County and the portion of West Liberty School District that falls in Johnson County are eligible to vote in this election. All voter registrations must be received no later than 5:00 P.M. on Friday, February 19, 2021. Absentee ballots are available by submitting an official application to the Auditor’s Office, or you may vote in person at the Auditor’s Office located at 414 E Third St., Ste. 201, Muscatine, IA weekdays from 8:00 A.M. until 4:30 P.M. through March 1, 2021. Any voter who is physically unable to enter a polling place has the right to vote in the voter’s vehicle. A Public Test of the electronic voting system to be used in this election will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 9 A.M. at the Muscatine County Auditor’s Office, 414 E. Third St., Ste. 201, Muscatine, IA. Pre-registered voters are required to provide an approved form of identification at the polling place before receiving and casting a regular ballot. Voters who are not pre-registered – such as voters registering to vote on Election Day - and voters changing precincts must also provide proof of residence. A voter who is unable to provide an approved form of identification (or prove residence if required) 1) may have the voter’s identity/residence attested to by another registered voter in the precinct, 2) prove identity and residence using Election Day Registration documents, or 3) cast a provisional ballot and provide proof of identity/residence at the County Auditor’s Office by 1:00 P.M., Thursday, March 5, 2020. Election Day Registrant attesters must provide an approved form of identification.
