MUSCATINE — Three residents were arrested earlier this month for burglary after breaking into a Columbus Junction residence.
Devin Galvan, 21, Clayten Schmelzer, 29, and Selena Walters, 38, of Columbus Junction, were charged Aug. 9 with burglary in the third degree, a class D felony.
According to the criminal complaint, the group broke into a residence around 2 p.m. on Highway 92, stealing dishes and other items, and then packing it into a car. The landowner confronted them and took down the license plate number as the vehicle drove away.
Police later found Schmelzer, Walters and Galvan at a residence, put them under arrest and transported them to Louisa County Jail. Schmelzer will be arraigned Friday and Walters will appear in court Sept. 5.
