MUSCATINE — A West Liberty man faces charges of domestic abuse assault and child endangerment after being arrested earlier this month.
Around 11 a.m. April 7, the West Liberty Police Department said it was called to a home because of a domestic disturbance. At the residence, a woman claimed a man had assaulted her while she was holding her 1-year-old child. The child was uninjured, but police said the victim was wounded, according to a criminal complaint.
Mario Becerra-Martinez, 21, of West Liberty, was arrested, according to police, and faces charges of domestic abuse assault, a class "D" felony, and child endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor.
He will be arraigned May 4 in Muscatine County Court, according to trial information.
