Four men pleaded guilty in two separate drug cases in Muscatine County Court, according to Muscatine County Attorney Alan Ostergren's blog.
Javier Lopez, 52, of West Liberty; Joel Rodriguez Rios, 37, of West Liberty; and Daniel Cancino, 24, of Muscatine pleaded guilty to roles in a conspiracy to distribute cocaine and sentenced Friday. Rios and Cancino were sentenced to up to 25 years in prison. Lopez received up to 15 years. Muscatine County Drug Task Force investigated the case.
On Monday, Cody Deneve, 31, of Moline pleaded guilty to possession of heroin with an intent to deliver as a habitual offender. He was the driver of an automobile stopped by a Muscatine County Sheriff's Deputy, which revealed he was in possession of eight capsules containing a mixture of heroin and fentanyl. Deveve had two prior drug trafficking felony convictions.
