Muscatine High School’s Jazz Ensemble qualified to compete at the Iowa Jazz Championships for the first time. The competition invites 15 jazz groups from Class 1A, 2A, 3A and 4A high schools for a total of 60 bands. Muscatine joins 14 other schools invited to the 4A class exhibition.

Now in its 30th year, the championship was founded to showcase the talent of high school jazz musicians.

The competition will take place at Iowa State University in the C.Y. Stephens Auditorium in Ames, Iowa on Thursday, April 5 at 11:30 a.m. Tickets for daytime competitions are $10 and cover admission to see all bands. Tickets will not be sold in advance.
