MUSCATINE — One suspect is in custody after a shots-fired incident on Interstate 80 near a gas station by the Atalissa exit Thursday afternoon, according to the Iowa State Patrol. No one was injured.

Around 2:30 p.m., Trooper Dan Loussaert said the state patrol and local law enforcement agencies responded to the scene. A spokesperson at the state patrol office said a person was reportedly shooting in the direction of the interstate.

The exit was temporarily blocked and traffic on east and westbound lanes was slowed due to the incident, according to the state patrol's office.

Loussaert said there is no threat to people in the area at this time.
