MUSCATINE, Iowa — A decision on new software is on the agenda for the Muscatine County Board of Supervisors' regular meeting at 9 a.m. Monday, June 2 at the Muscatine County Administration Building, 414 E. Third St.
The board will discuss and possibly take action on a motion to execute an agreement with Tyler Technologies, Inc. for a subscription to and implementation of Eagle Land and Vital Records Suite software in the amount of $42,918, plus an estimated $7,500 in travel expenses.
County recorder Cynthia Gray had previously recommended the purchase for her office, saying it would improve her office's ability to index and digitize documents to allow easier public access. She also noted that other county agencies are already using Tyler programs.
The board also is expected to meet with County Engineer Keith White and County Zoning Administrator Jodee Stepleton. With White, the board plans to discuss county construction projects; among the items the board expects to discuss with Stepleton is a plan to set up scheduling of livestock producers education training. The county is trying to improve communications between local livestock producers and residential neighbors, hosting a public hearing between the two groups May 12 and suggesting a non-binding "good neighbor" policy intended to encourage communication and cooperation between the two groups.
