Louisa-Muscatine was one of several area schools that were represented on the All-State Bowling teams.
Five Falcons were named to the boys and girls all-state teams released by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association and Iowa High School Bowling Coaches Association Tuesday. Three representatives from Durant were named as well as senior Gabi Evans from Muscatine, who was named to the Class 3A First Team.
On the season, Evans registered a series average of 414.3 and won the Class 3A state-qualifying meet last week.
The Durant trio had two members from their boys team selected: junior Drew Henderson and senior Drake Jehle, who were both named to the Class 1A Second Team. Henderson averaged a 400.2 and Jehle a 406.6.
On the girls side, the Wildcats saw senior Tori Novinski selected to the second team.
For the Louisa-Muscatine boys, junior Traven Tillie was the lone member selected. He made the 1A First Team thanks to his 416.1 season series average.
As far as the Louisa-Muscatine girls team, the recognition and awards just keep rolling in. At the Class 1A state competition, L-M had four of the top eight individual finishers on its way to a record-setting third straight state title.
All four were named to the Class 1A first team.
That bunch was led by junior Whittney Morse, who is coming off the state competition in which she bowled the individual high score on the girls side with a 472 two-game series, a score that was 50 pins better than her season average.
The three other Falcons named to first team were Shadyn Bishop (who carried a 394.4), junior Lauren Bodman (386.8 season series average), and sophomore Madisyn Gerdts (383.7).
