MARION, Iowa — Muscatine girls diver Jaycie Klein clinched a spot at the state diving meet with a runner-up finish at the Clinton regional diving competition held at Linn-Mar High School on Thursday night.
Klein, a senior, is making her fourth consecutive trip to the state meet, which will be held at the Marshalltown Community Y on Friday, Nov. 6.
There will be some familiar faces joining Klein, who said earlier this season her goal is at least a top-three finish.
Pleasant Valley's Claire Park won the Clinton regional over Klein by a score of 493.9-478.55. At last season's state meet, Park was fourth, one spot ahead of Klein in fifth.

Another familiar face joining Klein and Park on the state qualifier list is Fairfield's Katherine Mueller, who scored a 486.95 and is currently seeded as the third-best diver, one spot behind Park and a spot ahead of Klein.
Mueller was third at last season's state diving meet.
Margaret Engel of West Des Moines Dowling is the top diving qualifier with a 497.8 score, and Des Moines Lincoln's Jolynn Harris rounds out the top five diving qualifiers with a 474.4 score.
The state diving event will begin at 5 p.m. in Marshalltown.
