Ranked teams: Class 3A No. 9 North Scott; 2A No. 7 Davenport Assumption

Ranked wrestlers (12): 113 -- No. 4 (3A) Jacob Schipper, North Scott. 126 -- No. 8 (3A) Caleb McCabe, North Scott. 132 -- No. 7 (3A) Will Jefferson, Bettendorf; No. 3 (2A) Matt Robertson, Assumption. 138 -- No. 7 (3A) Collin Lewis, North Scott; No. 9 (3A) Mason Morris, Bettendorf. 145 -- No. 7 (3A) Preston Terry, Burlington. 160 -- No. 4 (2A) Julian Broderson, Assumption.  182 -- No. 3 (3A) Spencer Sherwood, Burlington.  220 -- No. 1 (3A) Wyatt Wriedt, North Scott;  No. 1 (2A) Noah Broderson, Assumption.  285 -- No. 8 (3A) Tyler Clark, Clinton

Need to know: North Scott won the MAC duals title, going 9-0 in conference matchups as part of a 26-3 record. Assumption, the defending MAC tournament champions, and Bettendorf will each be in contention after going 8-1 in MAC duals. Muscatine, meanwhile, has gotten better each week under first-year coach Joe Kane, and the Muskies have a group of veterans — Colton Oldfield, Bronson Brown, Carter Oldfield, Garrett Brunson and Nolan Bell — who could wrestle themselves into contention.

Ranked teams: No. 5 (2A) West Liberty.

Ranked wrestlers (12): 106 -- No. 6 (2A) Will Esmoil, West Liberty; No. 6 (1A) Nolan Noonan, Cascade. 120 -- No. 8 (1A) Ben Emrich, Tipton. 132 -- No. 9 (2A) Duncan McCain, Mid-Prairie. 138 -- No. 9 (2A) Nate Thoms, Camanche. 145 -- No. 9 (2A) Baylor Crigger, Camanche; No. 3 (1A) Trey Brisker, Wilton. 152 -- No. 1 (2A) Joe Kelly, West Liberty.  182 -- No. 6 (1A) Bryce Oveson, Wilton. 195 -- No. 1 (2A) Bryce Esmoil, West Liberty; No. 4 (2A) Visouth Peterschmidt, Mid-Prairie; No. 6 (1A) Mason Lyons, Bellevue.

Need to know: West Liberty, which finished 12-0 in RVC duals, is the two-time defending RVC tournament champions, and the Comets depth has them positioned for a third straight title. Camanche, which went 11-1 in conference duals, and Wilton, who was 10-2, will offer West Liberty its biggest challenge to the team crown.

Southeast Iowa Superconference tournament

At Cardinal High School, Eldon

When: 10 a.m. Saturday

Ranked teams: None.

Ranked wrestlers (8): 106 -- No. 5 (2A) Jared Kadel, Columbus Community; No. 10 (1A) Daniel Meeker, Wapello. 113 -- No. 3 (1A) Devon Meeker, Wapello; No. 4 (1A) Samuel Loyd, New London. 138 -- No. 3 (1A) Austin Leopard, Louisa-Muscatine. 152 -- No. 2 (1A) Brennan Swafford, Mediapolis. 160 -- No. 5 (1A) Rogan Pforts, Wapello. 170 -- No. 3 (2A) Tucker Morrison, Columbus Community.

Need to know: Mediapolis has won two straight titles and seem to be in position to challenge for a third straight crown. However, Wapello's talented core should have the Indians in contention for the title despite a lack of numbers and Louisa-Muscatine, despite its youth, could push for a top-four finish. Columbus, meanwhile, doesn't have the depth of past seasons, but the Wildcats will likely finish in the top half of the tournament.
