Fourteen area athletes were recognized on the River Valley All-Conference boys and girls basketball teams that were released Thursday.
The Wilton girls basketball team led the way with four selections, and seniors Kortney Drake and Emily Lange were unanimous selections on the Elite Team. Lange led Class 2A in points per game at 22.6 while Drake added 15.9 points per contest.
Seniors Aubrey Putman and Linsey Ford were also recognized, with Putman earning a spot on the South Divisional Team and Ford making honorable mention.
Wilton coach Jeremy Putman was named the RVC South Division Coach of the Year. In his 14th season, he helped lead the Beavers to a school record 21 wins.
West Liberty senior Macy Akers made the South Divisional team while sophomore Janey Gingerich was an honorable mention. Akers scored 10.3 points per game to lead the Comets to seven wins, their most since the 2014-15 season.
Durant senior Kamryn Meyer made the South Divisional Team after averaging a double-double with 15.3 points and 10 rebounds per game in her senior season. Senior Hannah Happ was an honorable mention.
On the boys side, West Liberty’s Seth Feldman was selected to the Elite Team. Feldman, a senior, was the second leading scorer in the RVC South Division at 19.2 points and hauled in 8.1 rebounds per contest. Gavin Chown made the South Divisional Team.
Durant's Easton Botkins made the South Divisional Team after averaging 16.4 per game in his senior season. Lilienthal was an honorable mention.
Jared Townsend was third in the conference in scoring at 17.8 points per game and was recognized on the South Divisional Team. The senior helped lead Wilton to its first district win in three years. Ashton Stoelk, another Wilton senior, was an honorable mention.
