Grings headed to regional finals: Wilton's Annabel Grings shot a 98 at Monday's regional meet at Valley Oaks Golf Course, which was good enough for a fourth place finish and a spot in the regional finals.
Grings finished two strokes back of second place, but the entire field finished well behind Monticello's Lauren Ries, who shot an 85 to win the meet.
The Wilton girls golf team placed fifth at the meet with a 414 team score, eight strokes behind the final qualifying spot. Eleney Owens and Taylor Garvin shot 102 apiece for Wilton, while Tatum Oveson rounded out the team score with a 112.
Monticello won the meet with a 389, while Camanche's 397 and Tipton's 406 were good enough to advance to the regional finals.
L-M's Howell on to regional finals: Olivia Howell shot a 95 to place fifth at Monday's regional meet and will move on to the regional finals. However, she won't be joined by any teammates, as Louisa-Muscatine placed fourth with a team score of 419 at Heritage Oaks Country Club in Wapello.
Williamsburg won the meet with a 381, while Mid-Prairie placed second with a 385. Both teams will move on to the regional finals.
Wapello placed eighth and saw its season come to an end after shooting a 531.
Holy Trinity 10, Wapello 0: The Arrows dropped to 0-5 on the season after a shutout loss Monday. Holy Trinity jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the opening five minutes, led 8-0 at halftime and scored two more goals in the opening minutes of the second half to end the game.
Sam Palma and Sadie Burke each collected to 10 saves for Wapello, and Burke had the team's only shot on goal in the game, compared to 22 for Holy Trinity.
