Muscatine boys game postponed, girls canceled: Even with the unprecedented amount of winter weather postponing games over the past several weeks, the Muscatine basketball teams have been able to find reschedule dates.
At least until Thursday’s ice storm got in the way of a home doubleheader against Clinton. The boys game will still be played next Monday at 6:30 p.m. The girls, however, are forced to cancel its game again Clinton.
The Burlington games scheduled for Tuesday and again Wednesday have been moved to Saturday with the girls playing in Muscatine and the boys at Burlington. The junior varsity will begin at 1 p.m. with the varsity to follow at both locations.
Muscatine athletic director Mike Morgan said in an email the seniors will be recognized at Saturday’s home girls game and there’s a possibility of a staff appreciation.
Many other games in the area were impacted, too. Among the events canceled with no reschedule date in the cards: Durant boys and girls bowling at the River Valley Conference Meet, Durant girls basketball at Bellevue, West Liberty girls basketball at North Cedar and Wapello boys and girls basketball at Highland.
Wilton’s home doubleheader against West Branch has been moved to tonight. The girls will tip at 6 p.m., with the boys to follow.
